Guidelines for a healthy lunchbox

  • A healthy lunchbox includes a sandwich or roll with cheese, ham or a filling of choice.
  • Some of the healthy snacks that we encourage include popcorn, fruit (banana, orange, apple, raisins etc.) flapjacks, yoghurt, crackers & liga.Crisps and all types of corn snacks are not permitted any day.
  • Fizzy drinks are NOT permitted.
  • Foods which have wrappers should be kept to a minimum, wrappers and any food not eaten must be put back in the lunch box and taken home. Cling film, tinfoil and plastic bags cannot be recycled so we will use a lunchbox instead.
  • Friday is our treat day. On this day we can include one piece of food from the top shelf of the food pyramid. If giving a bar - a fun size bar is recommended.
  • All classes will receive some lessons on healthy eating. A Healthy Eating Awareness Week will be held. Our school's Healthy Eating guidelines will be displayed throughout the school.
