This year a Debating Club was started by two pupil's from 6th class. It has proven to be extremely popular and there is now a waiting list to join. We have already debated lots of entertaining topics - banning homework, football is rubbish (!) and making Irish optional. We are very lucky to have the alcove because it is the perfect place for debating outside when the weather is fine. We also use the hall and the computer room for researching topics and preparing speeches. It is hoped the pupils will use their new-found debating skills by joining clubs in their new secondary schools, and perhaps a few of them might get involved in politics in the future!
