Scoil Aonghusa Senior is a Catholic co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin and the pastoral care of the Dominican Fathers in the parish of St. Aengus. There are currently 220 boys and girls attending Scoil Aonghusa Senior. Our school caters for children from third to sixth class.
Scoil Aonghusa Senior opened in 1975 at a time when the Tallaght area was undergoing rapid development. The school is located adjacent to Tymon Park. Tymon Park is the premier regional park within the South Dublin County Council area. The park covers 500 acres with abundance of flora and fauna and recreational facilities. Classes in the school regularly visit Tymon park for nature walks and other outdoor activities. More information about Tallaght can be found at http://www.tallaght4kids.ie/index.html.
On the school crest you will see the words 'Foghlaim agus Spórt' which means 'Learning and Fun'. This is a very good description of our school!
